Carbon Emissions from Beijing's Planting Industry on the Decline

Research conducted by the Beijing Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences has revealed that the carbon emissions from Beijing's planting industry have shown a downward trend since 2000. The study, which used the carbon emissions factor method to analyze the inter-annual variation characteristics of carbon emissions and carbon benefits in the planting industry, found that the total carbon emissions from the planting industry in Beijing decreased by 70.43% between 2000 and 2023. The main sources of carbon emissions were identified as agricultural inputs and nitrous oxide (N2O) from farmland, which accounted for 50.85% and 47.95% of the total carbon emissions, respectively.
