DERAID: A Novel RAID-Based Technology for Efficient and Secure Data Storage

Researchers from the Tianjin University of Technology have developed DERAID, a novel RAID-based technology that integrates encryption directly into the coding process to ensure data confidentiality and reliability while minimizing storage overhead. The technology, named DERAID, uses a unified coding structure based on the ECB encryption mode, replacing conventional parity blocks with a combination of cryptographic keys and verification blocks. Experimental results demonstrate that DERAID outperforms traditional methods and QS-code in terms of encoding, updating, and reconstruction performance, while reducing the data expansion rate.
