Detection of KRAS Mutations in Circulating Tumor Cells for Metastatic Colorectal Cancer
Recent research from Kaohsiung, Taiwan, has made a significant breakthrough in the detection of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) with KRAS oncogene mutations in patients with metastatic colorectal cancer. A study involving 76 patients treated with cetuximab plus chemotherapy found that the detection sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of membrane-arrays for CTCs with KRAS oncogene were 84.4%, 95.3%, and 90.8%, respectively.
