Deutsche Telekom Expands Dial-in Access Capacity with Ascend's High-Performance WAN Access Switches

Deutsche Telekom AG has selected Ascend's market-leading MAX TNT WAN access switch to systematically expand its dial-in access ports across Europe to meet the needs of its fast-growing on-line customer base. The MAX TNT will be used primarily to expand the Points of Presence (PoPs) of Deutsche Telekom's Internet Service, T-Online, which has over three million subscribers.

Deutsche Telekom plans to install approximately 90,000 new ports this year, and will establish Europe's largest MAX TNT-based dial-in access platform, with over 350 Ascend MAX TNT units installed throughout the network. The MAX TNT enables service providers to deliver a wide range of services, including MultiVoice', MultiVPN, Carrier Signalling Integration, and Last Mile Solutions such as MultiDSL and network wholesaling.
