Implementing 21st Century Learning Models through E-Learning

Researchers at Universitas Islam Balitar have developed a new e-learning prototype to improve the pedagogical competencies of preservice teachers. The study aimed to design a learning platform that is adaptive to change and integrates technology into learning. The researchers used the SDLC method, consisting of five stages: planning, analysis, design, implementation, and testing. The prototype was evaluated using the USE Questionnaire and received positive feedback from 30 students and 2 lecturers.

Key Takeaways:

  • The study emphasizes the need for preservice teachers to possess pedagogical competencies that are adaptive to change, especially in implementing 21st century learning models and integrating technology into learning.
  • E-learning is proposed as a solution to meet the demands of preservice teachers, offering a flexible, adaptive, and interactive learning experience.
  • The DARP approach (Discuss, Archive, Reflect, and Prepare) is adopted to ensure the e-learning platform is interactive, reflective, and evaluative.
  • The research involved 30 students and 2 lecturers, with the usability of the e-learning platform assessed using the USE Questionnaire.
  • The development of the e-learning prototype received positive feedback from both students and lecturers, indicating DARP-based e-learning can be further developed as a learning platform.
  • The study aims to support the improvement of pedagogical competence of 21st century preservice teachers.

Statistics:

  • 30 students and 2 lecturers participated in the research.
  • The e-learning platform was assessed using the USE Questionnaire.
  • The development of the e-learning prototype received positive feedback from 100% of students and 100% of lecturers.
  • The research was published in the Biosfer journal, Volume 18, Issue 1, 2025.
  • The study's conclusion suggests that DARP-based e-learning can be further developed as a learning platform to support the improvement of pedagogical competence of 21st century preservice teachers.
