Lucent Technologies and MRV Communications Partner to Provide Next-Generation Ethernet Solutions

Xspedius Communications, a leading facilities-based integrated communications service provider, has selected Lucent Technologies to deploy next-generation Ethernet equipment, software, and services throughout its network in 20 states and the District of Columbia. As part of the partnership, Lucent will resell MRV Communications' complete business Ethernet service solution, including the OptiSwitch(R) family of products, to provide premises-based connectivity for optical fiber-based point-to-point Ethernet networks.

Lucent and MRV will provide Xspedius with customer premises equipment (CPE) to support broadband connections between enterprise locations and Xspedius' state-of-the-art Ethernet-based transmission network.
