New Support Measure for Solar Power Plant Installation in Residents' Areas

The Ministry of Energy has launched a new support initiative for residents who want to install solar power plants with electricity storage devices. The support measure, administered by the Environmental Project Management Agency (APMA), will be addressed to residents who want to install a 5 kW solar power plant and a 10 kWh capacity electric energy storage device with a power of no more than 1 kW allowed to be generated in the network. With this new support measure, the ministry aims to provide opportunities for residents to build solar power plants who previously could not do so due to ESO conditions.

Key Takeaways:

  • The new support measure is addressed to residents who want to install a 5 kW solar power plant and a 10 kWh capacity electric energy storage device.
  • The support will be administered by the Environmental Project Management Agency (APMA).
  • Residents can install a higher power and capacity, but the grant will only be paid for an installed power of 5 kW and a capacity of 10 kWh.
  • The total amount of support for one applicant will be €5,012 for lithium iron phosphate storage technology and approximately €4,500 for lithium-ion storage technology.
  • The support will not be provided to residents who have purchased and installed solar power plants together with an electricity storage device before the support is announced.
  • Residents can apply for support starting in 2025.
  • The connection of 5 kW power plants will be carried out in a simplified manner according to the standard power plant connection conditions published by ESO.
  • The support will not be provided if the resident installs a solar power plant of lower power or an electrical energy storage device of lower capacity.
  • Approximately 1,000 households will be able to benefit from the support, and additional funding opportunities will be sought in the future if the measure is of great interest.

Statistics:

  • Total amount of support for 5 kW solar power plant with 10 kWh electric energy storage device (lithium iron phosphate technology): €5,012
  • Total amount of support for 5 kW solar power plant with 10 kWh electric energy storage device (lithium-ion technology): approximately €4,500
  • Number of households able to benefit from the support: approximately 1,000
