Breakthrough in Chemical Engineering: Novel SD-MixBNR System Enhances Biological Nitrogen Removal Efficiency
Researchers from the Harbin Institute of Technology have developed a novel biological nitrogen removal (BNR) system that significantly improves nitrogen removal efficiency and reduces greenhouse gas emissions. The study, published in the Chemical Engineering Journal, showcases a sulfur disproportionation (SD)-mediated mixotrophic BNR (SD-MixBNR) system that operates under low-temperature conditions.
