Tecnomatix and Fuji Select SCI Systems to Optimize Production Planning Systems
Tecnomatix Technologies, a pioneer and world leader of Digital Factory software, has announced that SCI Systems, a world leader in electronics contract manufacturing, has placed a $3.8 million order for its combined Tecnomatix and Fuji Machine Manufacturing Company Ltd. software and services. The order is comprised of Tecnomatix' Unicam software for assembly planning, production monitoring, documentation and interfacing with non-Fuji PCB assembly equipment, as well as a jointly developed brand of the Unicam software called FujiCam that allows engineers to program, optimize and monitor Fuji assembly machines directly from the engineering application.
Key Takeaways:
- SCI Systems, a world leader in electronics contract manufacturing, selected Tecnomatix and Fuji after a year-long evaluation of the UNICAM and FUJICAM software at three SCI sites.
- The Tecnomatix/Fuji solution has already shortened new product introduction schedules, reduced cycle times for board assembly, and provided faster implementation of engineering changes and automation of process documentation for SCI.
- The software will be implemented at 26 SCI facilities and is a key component of SCI's globalization efforts to maintain its leadership position in the electronics manufacturing services market.
- The joint Tecnomatix/Fuji solution will enable SCI to work more efficiently and productively, with fewer costly errors, resulting in shorter time to market and superior product quality.
- Tecnomatix' software solutions help companies meet their manufacturing goals, including accelerating the introduction of new products, reducing engineering and manufacturing costs, minimizing production downtime, increasing productivity, and improving quality.
- SCI Systems has over 23,500 employees operating thirty-four facilities in sixteen countries.
