Ageing Experiences and Support Needs of Middle-aged and Older Autistic Adults

As the autistic population continues to grow, there is an increasing need to understand the ageing experiences and support needs of middle-aged and older autistic adults. A recent study aimed to explore this topic by interviewing 17 autistic adults aged 46 to 72 years. The findings revealed that autism influences people's ability to age well, with concerns about age-related conditions, changes in autistic characteristics, lack of knowledge, increased risks of social isolation, and inadequate support systems.
