Binational Collaboration Promotes Sustainable Forest Management in Peru and Ecuador

The National Forest and Wild Fauna Service (Serfor) of Peru, in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Water and Ecological Transition (MAATE) of Ecuador, has launched the Program of Exchange in Management COMMUNITY FOREST PERU - ECUADOR (IEMFC) to promote the exchange of experiences in community forest management. This program aims to strengthen the sustainable management of forest and wildlife resources through knowledge and good practices exchange between the two countries. The inaugural session, which focused on institutionality, governance, and legal framework, was attended by 130 participants who emphasized the importance of international cooperation for indigenous peoples in managing their natural resources.
