Discovery of Two New Compounds with Anticancer and Antibacterial Activities
Researchers at Harbin University of Commerce, led by Lijing Zhang, have successfully isolated and structurally characterized two previously undescribed compounds, and a known compound, from the endophytic fungus Fusarium oxysporum LZC03. The new compounds, and, demonstrated moderate cytotoxic effects against the HCT-116 human colon cancer cell line, with IC values of 59.27 and 55.86 mg/mL, respectively. Additionally, these compounds exhibited differential inhibitory effects against various bacterial strains, including Gram-positive strains.
