Flipped Classroom Model Proves More Effective in Improving Problem-Solving Skills in Science Education

A new study has shed light on the effectiveness of the Flipped Classroom model in enhancing problem-solving skills among prospective science teachers compared to the traditional Direct Instruction model. The research, conducted by Universitas Dwijendra, aimed to analyze the differences in problem-solving skills between students taught using the Flipped Classroom model and those taught using the Direct Instruction model. The study involved 34 fourth-semester prospective science teachers, with 17 students in each group, who were assessed using an essay test in a biophysics course. The results showed that the Flipped Classroom model was more effective in improving problem-solving skills, with a medium improvement in both groups, but a significant difference between the groups.
