Fujitsu Microelectronics America Introduces New Spread Spectrum Clock Generators
Fujitsu Microelectronics America, Inc. has introduced a new series of spread spectrum clock generators (SSCGs) that reduce Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI) in high-frequency electronic devices. The MB88150 series includes various SSCGs that modulate clock frequencies to minimize peak emissions in products such as computers, printers, MP3 players, cell phones, and other devices operating at increasingly higher frequencies.
The new SSCGs can be used independently or in conjunction with shields, capacitors, and chip coils to reduce EMI observed at both main clock frequencies and harmonic spurious frequencies. According to Fujitsu, the SSCGs exhibit excellent noise reduction, making them a cost-effective and space-efficient solution for EMI noise management in high-frequency devices.
