Genetic Diversity and Population Differentiation of Pyrenophora Graminea on Highland Barley

Research has been conducted to examine the genetic diversity and population differentiation of Pyrenophora graminea, a pathogen that causes leaf stripe disease on highland barley in Qinghai province, China. The study collected 329 strains of the pathogen and evaluated their colony growth rate, pathogenicity, and genetic diversity using 49 SSR markers. The results showed that the pathogenicity of P. graminea varied among different regions and cultivars, with disease incidence ranging from 0 to 62.2% on two highland barley cultivars.
