Hepatitis B Virus Linked to Drug Resistance in Liver Cancer
Researchers at Seoul National University have identified a key mechanism underlying the development of drug resistance in liver cancer cells infected with the hepatitis B virus (HBV). According to their study, published in Cancer Science, HBV expression in liver cancer cell lines induces resistance to the chemotherapeutic agent 5-fluorouracil (5-FU).
