Indonesia's Renewable Energy Potential: A Study on Ocean Wave Power Plant Utilization

As Indonesia continues to grapple with increasing electricity demand fueled by population growth and economic expansion, researchers have turned to renewable energy sources to meet this demand. A recent study by the Faculty of Science and Technology has assessed the potential of ocean wave power plants using the Oscillating Water Column (OWC) method, with a focus on Bawean Island in Gresik, which faces long-standing electricity supply limitations. The study employed deep learning-based methods, such as the Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) algorithm, to predict electricity generated by the ocean wave power plant, with promising results.
