Nitric Oxide Modulates Signal Transduction Pathways in Lung Endothelial Cells

Research conducted at the University of Florida has discovered that nitric oxide (NO) plays a crucial role in modulating signal transduction pathways in lung endothelial cells. Scientists exposed cultured pulmonary artery endothelial cells (PAEC) to an NO donor, 1 mM NOC-18, and analyzed the expression levels of 96 marker genes associated with 18 signal transduction pathways.
